SEM’s Varsity Soccer team took on Saint Mary’s High School on September 13,  at Westwood Park.

Erin Griffis ’20, had a hat trick, bringing her up to 6 goals in 2 games. Erin said that she “feels pressured while plating because it seems like everyone is watching her, but the greatest feeling is making a goal and being able to celebrate with your teammates.”

Sophia Vaquero ’20, also had a great game on the offensive side, with 1 goal and 2 assists. “Soccer is both challenging and fun, but I hope we make it farther than we did last year to the championships,” said Vaquero.

Nicole Nobrega ’20, had an unassisted goal from a corner kick. Nicole said, “I hope we will all work together to improve in order to win the championships.”

On defense, Sophie Mielnicki ’17 and Alessandra Celotto ‘2o played very well, as did goalkeeper, Grace Cloherty ’17, who had a shutout (the opposing team failed to score).
