On October 5 SEM’s varsity field hockey team had their senior game against Sacred Heart Academy with 10 seniors on the team however they unfortunately lost.

Hannah Garis ’17 said,”I’m excited for my senior game but it is also bittersweet to know that this is my last field hockey game at Larkin Field.”

Having their last home game together another senior Lara Sherris ’17 talked about her senior game saying, “I’m really sad to say that I will be playing my last game at SEM today the fact that this is my last game really solidifies that this is my last year at SEM, its bittersweet and I will miss everyone but I know the team will do great next year.”

Having mixed emotions it is not just about how these seniors are feeling. Senior games tend to influence everyone on the team. As Gabrielle Cleary ’18 said, “It’s going to be really sad not being able to play with the friends I’ve made considering the fact that I’ve been playing with these girls who have become good friends since my freshman year.”

The signs are normally made by the juniors on the team and Rose Mcdonnell gave a speech to each senior as they received their signs and roses
