These weeks are a blur of gorgeous afternoons on Larkin Field (fun even if we didn’t win every time) and swim meets, cross country meets and winning golf matches.
We have now hosted a successful open house and plan for our first evening open house on October 20.
We’re getting ready for Hornet/Jacket this Thursday night and Friday. (Parents: it’s a half day on Friday. Don’t forget.)
We’re planning SEM?Quest – the fun, casual parent fundraiser on Friday, November 4. If you get your tickets by September 30, they are only $40 per person.
This edition of SEM Weekly was made by Team 2 of the journalism elective class. They covered a lot this week including:
General assignment reporter Sara Caywood writes about a history class trip to the new federal courthouse and she interviewed Emily Bulan about her time at the United State of Women summit in DC in June.
In Arts & Entertainment Leah Kramer started the SEM Weekly’s first restaurant reviews and Aerin Wagner has an imperative guide to what to wear to be best dressed for Hornet/Jacket.
Residential life reporter Mikang Kim was at the first Oktoberfest themed sit-down dinner and our other residential life reporter Danyun “Chris” Wu chronicles her journey through three homestays until getting to SEM this year to take up residence in Niscah House.
Kyra Fogg covered a Red-Tailed Hawk victory over Christian Central Academy and she interviewed history teacher Jess Silverstein to kick off a regular series about what our teachers’ high school lives were like. Anya Roy filled our sports ticker.
Tomorrow TEAM 2 is up: LucyMarie Gaulin, Jesse Sloier, Rebecca Thomas, and Elisa Yi are general assignment reporters and editors. Jenna Al-Naji and Brooke Gannon are the sports staff.
Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and the SEM website are still excellent sources of daily news. All of the links on the front page of this newspaper will take you there. As always, our Vidigami site is full of pictures. Please let me or Beth Adamczyk know if you need help finding or getting into Vidigami but check your SPAM because an email invitation to join may be there.
