This is SEM’s first season with an Indoor Track Team. Every girl stepped out of their comfort zones this week by either trying new events or running events they did not plan to run. It really made this one of the best meets of the season so far.

Angelina Myles nearly missed clearing 4 feet in the High Jump in her first ever Varsity Field event.

In the 55M Dash, Dori Bwenge and Adiyah Colin ran competitively in their heats, both just off personal best by less than 0.06 seconds.

Peyton Wagner and Caroline Finkbeiner tried a new event for the first time, establishing very respectable times in the 600M Run.

In the 1500M Run Ana McNamara set a new personal best, and Tia Browder ran just off personal best nearly breaking the 6:00 barrier again.

Also trying a new event for the first time, Angelina Myles set a new school record in the 4th heat of the 300M Dash, running a TOP 25 time in the Section, only to have that new school record broken by Essence Julien a few minutes later in Heat 7.

Essence also ran a TOP 16 time in the Section. Our 4 x 400 Meter Relay of Angelina, Ana, Tia, and Essence also ran another TOP 16 time in the Section, followed by our 4 x 200 Meter Relay of Adiyah, Dori, Peyton, and Caroline who ran more than 2 seconds faster than their seeded time.
