HORNET/JACKET DAY – Parent Information

HORNET/JACKET DAY - Parent Information

Erin Kelly, Managing Editor

Junior Hornets 2016

SEM has a long-standing Hornet/Jacket tradition where everyone in the school, including faculty, is assigned to one of the two teams… For life. This year Hornet/Jacket Day is Friday, September 15. All new students and faculty are assigned to either the Hornet or Jacket team on Hornet/Jacket Day.  To celebrate, a whole series of activities at school and at Larkin Field are planned. Your daughters will be exhilarated and exhausted when it’s all over at noon.

To begin, freshmen have a sleepover at SEM on Thursday, September 14, with their sophomore sponsors. Faculty chaperones spend the night too, to ensure all goes safely and smoothly. The girls will be celebrating, dancing, scavenger hunting, watching movies, and dressing up to prepare for the all-school festivities on Friday.

Please have your daughter bring a sleeping bag, blankets, pillows, comfortable clothes to sleep in, a change of clothes for Friday, and snacks. Students will have snacks and pizza provided by the kitchen. Students can come to school in the morning prepared to spend the night if they are unable to go home and get back by 6:45 PM.

The sleepover is a wonderful and fun bonding experience for the freshman and sophomore classes. Please email Eva Cunningham or Kacie Mills if you have any concerns or questions.

All girls should bring casual clothes, sleeping bag, and overnight things to the Colby Room (2nd Floor of West-Chester Building) Thursday morning. Thursday afternoon students should attend their sports practices or games and then come to SEM afterwards!
