Dr. Goetz, Scientist by Day & Cubmaster by Evenings. And Weekends.

Dr. Jennifer Goetz-Bixby is our math and science teacher by day, but on evenings and weekends, she is Cubmaster of Pack 5.

As Cub Master, Dr. Goetz is featured in a video advertisement for the Boy Scouts’ Greater Niagara Frontier Council fundraiser, Fire & Ice, on March 22.  In the video she said,”I really believe in scouting, it changed my life and it’s very important to me to give that back to the next generation of Scouts.”

Dr. Goetz’s younger son, third-grader Leo, is a Bear Cub Scout with Pack 5.  Her older son, seventh-grader Graham, is a Boy Scout with Troop 5; he began as a Wolf Cub Scout in second grade and she began then as his den leader.  She’s been Cubmaster for three years (Assistant Cubmaster and Graham’s den leader for the two years before that).
Dr. Goetz was the first awardee of the Greater Niagara Frontier Council Tatonka District “Cubmaster of the Year” for 2015. The Greater Niagara Frontier Council is made up of 4 districts:  The Tatonka District, which encompasses the city of Buffalo, was created in 2015.

From second to twelfth grade, Dr. Goetz was a Girl Scout. It taught her confidence, leadership and responsibility.  “They literally took me to places that I never would have gone with my family.  They taught me to respect myself and others.  I think most importantly, they taught me there was nothing I couldn’t do.”
