Over 100 middle school girls and boys found their Halloween spirit at SEM’s annual Grave Rave. The most represented middle schools were: St. Marks, City Honors, Tapestry, Casey Middle and Elmwood Franklin.

The first Grave Rave was held by the Class of 2013 to help fund prom – there have been five since then. The Class of 2018 had fun setting-up and the enthusiasm was contagious.

Traditionally, borrowed decorations are gathered from students for a couple of weeks before the dance. This year, thanks to the underclassmen who spent some time pumpkin carving in the Magavern-Sutton Courtyard after volunteering at the new Oishei Children’s Hospital, there were jack o’lanterns.

A big thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Silverstein for chaperoning and to Ms. Munson for her support.

Thank you to Rose McDonnell for her leadership and all the seniors’ hard work.

Director of Admission Laura Munson ’79 was thrilled by the turnout.
