Another outstanding effort by our SEM XC team at Evangola State Park on a beautiful evening backed by the setting sun. Competing against some of the best large and small high schools in the area, every SEM girl (for the second consecutive race) recorded either a seasonal best or a personal best time. Our girls are making SEM proud every time they step onto the course!
Leading the way was Zoe Knauss with another seasonal best time and a strong finish (11th overall). Well done again Zoe! Finishing 2nd for SEM was Julianna Fanara with a personal best time by nearly 2 minutes. 3rd for SEM was Tia Browder running a personal best by nearly 40 seconds. 4th for SEM was Maggie McHale running a personal best time and beating her 2015 All Catholics race time while with Nardin, 5th for SEM was Jocelyn Yang running a seasonal best by nearly 1 minute 30 seconds, followed by Peyton Wagner running a personal best by nearly 30 seconds. Rounding out the Top 7 for SEM was Tessa Covello completing her first 3.1-mile race of the season. Next for SEM was Melanie Tunkey running a personal best by nearly 2 minutes 30 seconds, Sophia Rodriguez running a personal best by nearly 2 minutes, Georgia Bontempo running a seasonal best by more than 2 minutes, and Fiona Zhang running a personal best by nearly 30 seconds.

Seniors Mel Tunkey, Tess Covello, Coach Steve, Julianna Scaccia and Maggie McHale.

With 2 races remaining and two weeks to go until the Monsignor Martin Association Championship Race, the hard work and commitment these girls have put in this season is really starting to show. Keep up the excellent effort!
